2008 GRE Carnival

Friday 4/18/2008 was extra special not only was it the Annual GRE (Governor's Ranch Elementary) Carnival and that Kristen was excited to go with her friend Amber but I brought two littles guests who had a great time too! Brodie and Lillie got to attend the carnival. Ashley was there also, she was suppose to help with the carnival for community service credit, but she had more fun hanging out with Brodie and Lillie. Brodie was really good at the ring toss, knock the cans over with a baseball and the football throw too! They both had several balloons made for them. Brodie had a yellow lion, and a green turtle. Lillie had a purple horse and a red ladybug. Brodie cant wait until next year so that maybe we can win a cake at the cake walk. We even tried 4-5 times trying to get a cake! Oh well try again next year.

Portraiture - Kristen

At work there is a club called Lablens, its a photographers club that anyone can be member of for a small fee (<$20), and every two months they change the theme and the members have their (8 x 10) photos hung in the main hall of the National Water Quality Lab. This bimonthly theme is "Portraiture", here is my contribution.

Opening Day - Colorado ROCKIES April 4, 2008

April 4th and 5th me and my friend Maggie attending the COLORADO ROCKIES Home Opener for 2008, while John was in San Antonio for the final four. I was a little under the weather (sinus infection) but I took a lot of medicine because I did ont want to miss the game! We played the Arizona Diamondbacks unfortunately we did not win any of the three games that weekend against them! But we still had a lot of fun!! Go Rockies!

Concert update...

Well this years concert was much better than last year, I think a lot had to do with the seats we were in, much better this year! Ashley, her friend Heidi and myself took the light rail down to the Pepsi Center. We arrived and immediately stood in line to purchase a t-shirt. Daughtry opened and he was good but... Bon Jovi and the stage set up was incredible, very high tech this year! Here are few pics from the concert

Also here are a couple videos one from Daughtry and of course "It's my life" from Bon Jovi, Ashley's favorite song and her competition song too...Enjoy! We sure did!!

Guess who we are going to see tonight?

So once again Ashley talked me into seeing her favorite musician...Jon Bon Jovi! We bought tickets way back in November when tickets first came available we have pretty good seats this year (I think) She is extremely excited. Chris Daughtry will be opening for BonJovi this year which should be a very good show too! By the way Ashley's favorite song is "It's my Life" and she plays it before every swim competition. As Ashley would say HAND- "Have a Nice Day" (its a song off his 2005 album).

They're Back....

John and Kristen just got back yesterday around 2pm. They left almost 2 weeks ago to pick up a truck in Gainsville Florida and drive it back to Colorado. They spent some time in Gainsville visiting Bobby, Mary Beth, Nicole, Bobby and Jonathan. Kristen and Jonathan played basketball, and rode bikes. They also attended a few of Bobby's basketball games. On Saturday March 22nd, Uncle John drove up from Ft. Meyers, Florida and picked up John and Kristen and took them back to his house. Along the way they stopped and picked up several flats of strawberries and ate strawberry shortcake. Kristen said it was incredible. Then she colored eggs for the easter bunny Saturday night with Pat.
I got a phone call from her Saturday night around 10:30pm Colorado time and she wanted me to know that she left the Easter Bunny a note. Easter morning Kristen drove everyone to breakfast on the golfcart. She loved driving the golfcart, she said it was her favorite thing she did on vacation. Then monday March 24 John and Kristen headed to Hattiesburg Mississippi to visit his buddy B.J. I told them they needed to stop in the Destin area to see the beach and it's beautiful sand. They did but it wasn't very warm but Kristen did get in and swim a little bit and she brought home some of that sand too! They spent a few days in Hattiesburg with B.J and Ann and once again Kristen was able to drive around on the golfcart that BJ had stored in his garage. She loved driving those golfcarts the best. She also liked sweet tea and tried an oyster. Then they headed towards Baton Rouge Lousianna and visited with Marie and Jerry. John and Jerry fished all day while Kristen played with Marie's grand-daughter Mary Katherine. On friday March 28th John and Kristen drove to Dallas to visit, Joey, Heather, Trenton, John Anthony and baby Kiana. Kristen said she had a wonderful time with Heather, running and making jewerly necklaces for me and she loved holding Kiana and playing with the boys. John and Joey worked on his new truck. John and Kristen left Saturday evening to get in a few hours of driving in so he would not have to drive the entire 12-13 hours on Sunday. They arrived home yesterday and she had many many stories to tell and she had a great time too! Oh by the way the truck looks good! God Bless, -s
